Age Safe America Launches New Aging-in-Place Resources, Names New Leadership
Age Safe America has appointed Daniel “Dan” Davenport as CEO, and launched the Age Safe Directory — an online tool that helps families locate trusted aging-in-place providers across the U.S.
Since its founding in 2015, Age Safe America has certified thousands of professionals through its flagship Senior Home Safety Specialist certification, equipping occupational therapists, senior safety professionals, home modification contractors and healthcare providers with the skills to identify slip, trip and fall hazards and conduct a home safety assessment for seniors.
As Age Safe America enters its second decade, the organization is charting a bold new course under the leadership of Davenport, a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of experience building and scaling mission-driven organizations.
Under Davenport’s leadership, Age Safe America is launching several new initiatives to reach broader audiences and close critical safety gaps:
Age Safe Directory (beta) – An online platform connecting families and professionals with vetted providers in home modifications, senior home safety, personal care, accessibility products, and aging-in-place services.
Dementia Safety Specialist – A specialized training program for both professionals and families, providing evidence-based strategies for dementia safety at home to reduce risk and improve quality of life for individuals living with dementia.
Aging in Place Essentials – An on-demand course that empowers professionals and families to plan confidently for aging in place, with actionable insights on home, health and wealth.
