Age Safe America Celebrates 7 Years Serving Seniors, the Aging-in-Place Industry

Age Safe America has trained professionals in eight countries and has become a recognized brand in the burgeoning aging-in-place industry. By effectively raising the awareness, value and necessity of a comprehensive senior home safety assessment, the company has developed a unique market segment and certification all its own.

The Senior Home Safety Specialist was officially registered by the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a certification mark. In addition, the SHSS course had its third revision; along with a newly designed CERTIFIED SHSS emblem that all graduates may use on marketing collateral and social sites. The new emblem along with USPTO registration has stepped up industry and consumer recognition of the credential. Incorporation of the certification into a nationally recognized occupational therapy doctoral degree program curriculum even further demonstrates professional acceptance of the course.

This year saw further partnering with leading franchise organizations in the mobility equipment and home services markets; as well as home care, home health and hospice providers to train staff for implementation of comprehensive home safety assessments to improve outcomes, market positioning and differentiation.

The Aging in Place Home Safety Advisor coaching program also had a recent relaunch. This targeted training offers the tools and real-life marketing strategies many are looking for to effectively engage this growing market. This program can significantly facilitate the success of individuals and companies looking to enter this market or grow an additional revenue stream to secure their place in the $7 trillion aging-in-place longevity economy.

After five years, a re-do of the “Grab Bars are the New Seat Belts” campaign is being coordinated to coincide with its new grab bar training course expected out next month. Both these initiatives will Increase consumer and professional usage of the registry, requesting home services, from safety assessments to grab bar installation and home modifications.
