Summit Appliance Introduces Barrier-Free Modular Kitchens for Accessible Living
Summit Appliance is expanding its catalog to include complete kitchens for barrier-free living. Summit, a division of Felix Storch, is combining accessible appliances with cabinetry, countertops and sinks to offer a full package for senior living, in-law suites, public accommodations and other living spaces. The accessible product line includes cooktops with upfront ADA-compliant controls and safety timers, as well as laundry and full-sized refrigeration designed for users with limited mobility.
In 2025, Summit launched its Turnkey Kitchen collection, featuring fully assembled cabinetry with pre-installed appliances that created complete kitchen or home bar setups in one piece. The new Fully Modular Integrated Kitchen series allows more user customization for full-sized kitchens. The barrier-free collection offers similar functionality but is specially designed to meet building codes for user accessibility in public buildings.
Cabinetry is available in four styles: white shaker, white slab, navy slab and dust brown slab with a wood grain. Customers and designers can choose from a variety of countertop finishes, handle and pull styles, as well as hundreds of ADA-compliant appliances, including refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges or cooktops, hoods, and laundry sets. Cabinetry ships fully assembled to ensure minimum setup time and cost.
